August 18-20, Day 66-68. There’s no medicine like your own bed. I’m so grateful that when I’m back, I live with my friend Jacqui. We are in the same dance community and she lives in her house with an extra room, and its usually open so when I'm back it feels like my home again. I don't know if I'd be able to manage my funny commute between Minnesota, Ireland, Hawaii and sometimes Washington, without having a place to call home when I'm back. Jacqui is one of the most caring and kind people I know.
So I went to the doctor and got antibiotics for a sinus infection and some nasal spray and now they can start kicking in. Sunday I slept for probably 15 hours, my body just desperatly needed it. I made myself an asain style ramen soup full of ginger, garlic, turmeric and other good things. There was a sweet kitty that I got to pet for quite a while on the sidewalk on my way home. Made me miss my soul mate of a cat who looked very similar and passed away almost a year ago. Sometimes I'm still desperatly sad about it, we grew up together, and she lived a happy 16 years. Animals in your life can mean the absolute world.
I've made a plan with a local paddler to get back on the water on Wednesday, I'm excited to get back out and I think there are quite a few people up the coast now that I can stay with. Camping really take it out of you sometimes.
